Are grounding products safe?
Yes. Our products don't use electricity. They connect only to your home's ground system through the ground pin of the outlet (or to the earth through a grounding rod). That's why they work whether the outlet switch is on or off, and why you don't need an electrician to use them.
Every grounding cord has a built-in 100 kilo-ohm resistor that limits current to a safe level.
What about lightning?
Lightning strikes on homes are uncommon, and when they happen lightning follows the easiest path to earth, such as plumbing, wiring or phone lines. The resistor in our cord makes it a poor path, and the fine wiring would burn out before any surge reached you. As an extra precaution, you can unplug during thunderstorms.
Can I leave it plugged in?
Yes. The products are designed to stay connected at all times, and it won't shorten their life.
Can I use it with an electric blanket or other devices?
Yes, as long as the electric blanket isn't between your body and the grounding cover. On top of you or underneath the cover is fine. We suggest warming the bed and then switching the blanket off before you sleep.
